When the user registers for the email newsletter her data will be transfered to MailChimp and stored at their site. MailChimp is then responsible for sending a subsequent mail with a confirmation link, the so-called “double opt-in”. Canceling an existing subscription is possible at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of every mail.

MailChimp offers means to analyze how the newsletter is opened and being read. This website has access to that data, but does not perform personalized analysis of individual and personally identifiable information to the extend possible. Some of these steps are demanded by German and EU laws to prove that registration to the newsletter has been performed and to defend against the accusation of sending unsolicited email.
